Hi, I'm Margeaux
I'm an editor, author, and publishing professional with eight years of experience in traditional publishing and editorial coaching. I specialize in speculative fiction, helping authors refine their manuscripts through worldbuilding, tension-building, and cultural sensitivity. I also edit other genres and love urban fiction and nonfiction.
My background in the publishing industry includes Sourcebooks editorial training and mentorship, serving as an acquiring editor for two traditional publishers, editor at Hugo award-winning FIYAH Literary of Black Speculative Fiction, and editor/coach and mentor for We Need Diverse Books. During my time at WNDB, I shaped the work of amazing authors who went on to publish traditionally. I work with publishers such as Penguin Random House, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, and more. My educational background is in English with a concentration in writing and culture.

Why I Created Conjure & Craft
I created Conjure & Craft because I saw a need for balanced editorial services that are customized, easy to understand, and quick to put into action. Too often, authors are left without the guidance and support they need to navigate the editing journey. I've spoken to authors who had their hopes shattered by editors who didn't have the experience to provide helpful strategies or suggestions .
Authors deserve experienced editors and knowledgeable guidance, especially from someone who has actually worked on the kinds of books they love. With a focused set of offerings, I’ve chosen to specialize in the types of genres I know best—speculative, horror, fantasy, dystopian—so I can bring both expertise and passion to every project. Does specializing mean you don't edit other areas?
No, I can edit across genres, but my workload has mostly been speculative and nonfiction. I enjoy reading and editing across genres, but I do not edit romance.
Do you edit YA books ?
Yes! I love Young Adult books. I currently edit adult, middle grade, and YA books.
Do you edit romance books without a speculative or paranormal theme?
No. Not at this time.
